Endorsement: Costa Howard for House Dist. 48
In the race for Illinois House from District 48, former Glen Ellyn school board member and civic leader Terra Costa Howard is out to prove that her ouster of Lombard Republican Peter Breen in 2018 was more than a fluke of the Democratic surge of that year. Breen is back for a rematch to try to show otherwise.
We stand by the choice we made in 2018.
ENDORSEMENT: Terra Costa Howard for Illinois House in 48th District
She champions women’s rights on issues of pay and reproductive health, and she’s the rare Democrat who has spoken out against House Speaker Michael Madigan.
Costa Howard was building bridges, metaphorically speaking. We can’t picture her opponent, conservative Republican Peter Breen of Lombard, doing the same. Breen held this seat for two terms but was defeated by Costa Howard two years ago.
“Terra Costa Howard epitomizes the wave of smart, public-spirited, highly qualified women who swept into office here in Illinois in 2018. Since then, she has set an example of leadership, transparency, and constituent service. I am proud to give Terra Costa Howard my endorsement, and I know that she will continue to serve the people of Illinois’ 48th district with honesty and distinction.”
“I am proud to endorse Terra Costa Howard for State Representative 48th District. She knows that true leadership means putting the public first. The only way we will move forward as a community and a country is to elect people who are committed to progress, and Terra shows a steadfast commitment to make the kind of changes we need. Terra will be a great partner and I look forward to working together to serve Illinoisans in the next term.”
“I am proud to endorse State Rep. Terra Costa Howard for re-election. When Terra Costa Howard first ran for State Representative two years ago, she promised to serve as a strong, independent voice for the 48th District. From the moment she took office, Terra has strived for openness and accountability in her office with an emphasis on exceptional constituent service. She has been working tirelessly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to help the people of our communities get through this challenge together. Today, we need Terra Costa Howard in Springfield more than ever, and I urge you to vote for her in November.”
“Terra Costa Howard’s common sense and compassion have made her an exemplary State Representative. Over the past two years, I have been deeply impressed by her wholehearted commitment to the people of the 48th District. I know that she will continue to work hard on behalf of our communities, and I hope voters will give her a strong victory on Nov. 3.”
"Every day, State Rep. Terra Costa Howard sets an example of independence, commitment, and public service. She has worked hard for the people of her district, and she has delivered results. I am happy to endorse her re-election because we need Terra Costa Howard’s voice in Springfield."
